Refrigerator Condenser Coil Cleaning Refrigerator Repair

The condenser coil on your refrigerator should be cleaned regularly,at least once a year. If you have animals, especially ones with long hair, they should be cleaned every six month. Cleaning your refrigerator condenser coils will save energy and ensure your refrigerator is running and cooling efficiently.

The most basic refrigerator condenser coil is called a (static) condenser. This is the style condenser that is located on the back side of the refrigerator. Static coils are cleaned easily with a rag and a vacuum, with brush attachment.

Some refrigerator condenser coils are located under the unit and are accessible from the kick plate,or back panel. With this style condenser it is best to use a refrigerator condenser coil brush. The brush works, most refrigerator coils are cleaned from the front, and space is narrow. The brush enables you clean the condenser coils easily, and effectively. If you are not able to access the coils from the front, and have to pull the unit forward, always use floor protection. A piece of masonite,or cardboard work well. I personally prefer Glide and guard floor protectors. Glide and guard floor protection snaps together which is nice if you want to roll,or push the appliance on the slider and not slide the protection across the floor.
